My mom was fortunate enough to take a trip to Mexico a couple of years back and I wanted to get her perspective on the country. Please play each Clyp recording to hear what she has to say.
The People of Mexico
Mexico is a astonishing vibrant country. Many Mexicans enjoy staying true to their local culture according to "Mexico", which is juxtaposed with the nationalistic unity that is created by all of the diverse cultures Mexico inhabits. One of the most pleasing aspects of the country is how most Mexicans value the same ideas and customs. Extended Family is of high importance to most Mexican families according to "Mexico". This strong connection with family helps younger generations comprehend the culture of the family. The vast majority of Mexicans are Catholic according to "Mexico". When it comes to etiquette, Mexicans try to stay as formal as possible. Adults must always be greeted formally, usually with a handshake or a gentle hug. ("Mexico"). However, when it comes to general roles men always take the lead. They are suppose to be the head of the family, while the wife is expected to take care of the family. ("Mexico"). Generally speaking , Mexicans are very traditional loving people, who have great dignity for their country.

The Beauty of Mexico
As the third largest country in Latin America, Mexico is home of the most beautiful combination of diverse landscape and cities. Mexico is home to the very magical Mayan ruins, which was once the home of the ancient Mayan civilizations. It also has a 6,000 mile coastline of alluring beaches with crystal clear waters and mesmerizing ocean waves ("25 Reasons to go to Mexico"). Mexico is also apart of the Pacific Ring of Fire, forming several active volcanos ("Volcanos of Mexico"). One can also explore the underground beauty, through visiting the various underground lagoons that are filled with mysterious dark blue waters. The beauty does not only preside in the landscape of the country, but Mexico is also known for its beautiful plaza. The plaza is filled with so much energy and is a place where thousands of people cross paths. It is also surrounding the house of the Mexican president and several other government buildings (“Zócalo in Mexico City, Mexico"). The naturalistic elements and traditional architecture are truly what make Mexico one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

The Difficulties of Mexico
Mexico is one of the many countries that has the challenge and difficulties of unequal distribution of wealth. Why is it that 53 million Mexicans live in poverty, but Mexico is still in the top 14 for richest countries in the world (Emersberger)? The answer lies with the around 10 billionaires that cover a fair percentage of the countries GDP (Emersberger). While the one percent are sitting on their thrones, the rest of the country is living with not even the most basic necessities. "48 percent of state schools have no access to sewage, 31 percent have no drinking water, 12.8 percent have no bathrooms or toilets and 11.2 percent have no access to electricity" (Harrigan). Since most of Mexico's citizens are below the poverty line, they do not have the money to fix the problem that lie in front of them.
